Great to see the first of these new workshops, from Michael Aldrich Foundation artist, Eleanor Owens (Owens Outdoors) who has worked with us for a number of years.
Eleanor will be sharing the therapeutic nature of traditional wood carving in the beautiful workshop space of Steyning based community organisation, https://www.thefutureperfectcompany.com/best-free-dating-site-for-seniors/.
Participants will have the opportunity to design and create their own spoon from locally sourced greenwood, always from wind-blown or damaged trees. Using three traditional hand tools (axe, straight knife, hook knife) there will be the chance to practice safe axe and knife grips and come away with a usable, oiled spoon and the knowledge to make more. This workshop is taught with small numbers with a 1:5 teacher to pupil ratio.
Sliding scale ticket prices from £35-65 make this is one of the most affordable spoon carving workshops.
